October hits, it's dark by seven and a hot shower becomes the best plan of the day. Better than the sofa. Better than the umpteenth Harry Potter rerun.

That's why we made Zombody Boo: a soap as black as midnight that turns ten minutes under the water into a getaway to a cabin in the woods, fire crackling and something pumpkin-shaped in the oven. Very Tim Burton. Zero drama.

Here's what's in it, what it smells like, how to make it last and what happens when the season's over (spoiler: it ends).

What is Zombody Boo?

A solid body soap. A bar, no bottle, that you rub on wet skin (or between your hands) to work up a lather, instead of shower gel.

We launched it in October 2025 as our Halloween soap and it's back this autumn. It's our seasonal edition: it shows up when the leaves start falling and disappears when the bars run out.

What does Zombody smell like?

A cabin in the woods in November. Broken down:

• Clove. The warm spice of mulled wine and winter stews.
• Orange. The citrus kick that wakes you up. It's got bitter orange peel oil and a touch of lemon.
• Roasted pumpkin. Sweet, round, very October.
• Anise. In the background. The kind you smell, not the kind you drink.

It's a scent you'll notice, and it hangs around the bathroom for a while. If you want a neutral soap nobody clocks, this isn't the one. If you fancy stepping out of the shower smelling of autumn, go for it.

The spell's ingredients

What's in it, explained without a lab coat:

The main players

PumpkinPumpkin seed oil (Cucurbita Pepo Seed Oil). Adds plant oils to the formula so your skin doesn't feel tight afterwards.

OrangeBitter orange peel oil (Citrus Aurantium Peel Oil). The citrus note in the scent.

CloveClove oil (Eugenia Caryophyllus Oil). The warm spice that leads the scent.

AniseA note in the fragrance. Anise you smell, not anise you drink.

Charcoal blackThe pigment that gives it that midnight colour (CI 77266).

An honest heads-up: like almost anything that smells of spice and citrus, it contains fragrance components such as eugenol, limonene, linalool and citral. If you have sensitive skin or a fragrance allergy, try it on a small patch first.

How do you use it (and make it last)?

1. Wet your skin and the bar. Rub it straight onto your body or between your hands until it lathers.
2. Massage for a few seconds. Chanting your favourite spell is optional.
3. Rinse well. And step out smelling of autumn.
4. Let it dry away from the spray. On a soap dish with a grid or one that drains. A soggy bar melts away much faster (and it's a sad sight).

It's made for the body. You can use it on your face carefully if your skin isn't sensitive, but there are cleansers made for faces, like Splash Foam Party.

How long does a bar last?

With one shower a day, around 3-4 weeks. It depends on how generous you are with it, whether you share the shower and whether you leave it swimming in water (see step 4). The bar weighs 150 g.
