The Olympic Games are coming: here's a quick guide to setting up yours this summer

Welcome to the Olympic Games. 🏐🏅🏋️ This year they're playing again even though you didn't even realize they existed. After all, they are being… weird. Five years later, without an audience and with an organizing committee that leaves one puddle to enter another .

But there is something undeniable: whether you are passionate about sport or not, there is no event capable of bringing together so many millions of people doing the same thing. That is, watching them on TV from the comfort of a sofa and with a beer (or cool drink of your choice) in hand.

Archery? Come on.
Weightlifting? Give me three hours.
Gentlemen playing a sport similar to baseball but that is not actually baseball ? I just found out it exists but I'm also interested in it while I'm taking a nap.   Very elegant riders jumping over obstacles with their horse? I have no idea why something like this is considered sport but I say More!, I love you and I love more... and I add another beer.

MY GAMES, MY RULES

About the Olympic spirit, about overcoming the highest peaks of the human body, about the epic of the competition... All of that is very good... as long as others do it.
Nobody wants to go outside to melt from the heat.

But if you want to avoid the feeling of guilt while watching a decathlete practice more sports in one afternoon than you do in your entire life and compensate for that innocent ice cream that falls every day at dessert time, here is a quick guide to summer activities .

Setting up your own Games is possible.

1. THREE THOUSAND METERS FREESTYLE (ARRIVE AS YOU CAN)

Running is easy. horror? fright? torture?... maybe. But it's easy.

You only need a pair of sneakers and firm ground. In summer things get complicated, but it is doable: set up your own 3K circuit first thing in the morning (when the sun is no longer harsh but you are rolling in the sweat of the sheets) and wear breathable clothing (better than naked, but we won't go there) to blame if you want to show that bullfighter body).   If your threshold of self- and other people's shame is non-existent, a cap with a built-in fan is your perfect ally .

2. TRACK CYCLING (NIGHT)

If getting up early is not your thing (we don't blame you) you have another option: take your sport in the evening. And there the most satisfying activity is pedaling.

Get a good light and look for a couple of bike paths or choose a park. Half an hour there and half an hour back in the evening on the bike, a complete sport , is more than enough to get you out of the starchy lethargy of summer.

Plus, there are benefits to taking a stroll when the sun goes down. You sleep better, rest more, strengthen your body more and even take away some of your appetite.

Embrace the night.

3. THE 20 METERS TO SOAK

Another simple, refreshing and fun way to ride your Olympics while living life is in the water. Especially sea water.

It is well known that riding some lengths coming from the beach:

 a) it is more liberating
 b) it's easier, because you float more than in a pool (thanks, science)
 c) it is doubly effective, because the waves force you to exercise more.
 d) all of the above

Come on, the best way to get like a bull, almost accidentally, is to take a couple of strokes (without drowning) every time you go into the water to cool off.   You won't be Phelps, although if you feel like it, you can afford their breakfasts .

4. (A)RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS AT HOME

If we have learned any lesson from the pandemic, it is that doing sports at home is cheap, effective and takes up very little of your time.

We are not going to bore you with manuals and guides for exercising at home (you have like a million YouTubers right now doing CrossFit just for you), but we are going to recommend skipping the cardio and using the coolness of the house (air, fan, that homemade smoothie that you have in the fridge) to do flexibility and bodybuilding exercises.

Come on, sport, yes, but without going overboard.
That it is summer. 🌴

I'M NOT GOOD, NO, I'M GREAT (AND YES, GREAT)

What it is about is taking advantage of motivation? of the Games and extend them to a summer where we travel, what they say travel..., perhaps we travel little; and socialize, what is called socialize, perhaps we socialize less than we had planned.

But above all, in the immortal words of El Cordobés, it is about mentalizing yourself, truly loving yourself, being healthy, having a good body, having power, being happy, loving yourself a lot, because you also love the one who is next to you and everything turns out truly ,... of sport.

To be cool with yourself (but without suffering like the gentlemen on TV).

P.s: and a final tip to avoid even more unwanted consequences of sports in summer... 🌞

  • Handsomefyer Sun with SPF 50, if the sun is going to hit your face.
