10 Half-Truths About Cosmetics… That Make Sense When You Put Them Together

There are phrases we've all heard a thousand times. Short, direct, to the point… perfect for headlines and clickbait. And it's not that they're lies… it's that they're incomplete. Half-finished sentences… lead to half-baked decisions.

So today we're going to do something:

FINISH THE SENTENCE... COSMETICS

1. GIRLS' CREAMS ARE SUITABLE FOR BOYS...

. ...as they are suitable for children, dogs, or any other mammal in between.

A pig's skin is structurally 99% the same as yours (in 3rd degree burns you can have that skin transplanted) but that does not imply that the conditions you experience and what you like are the same.

2. Men suddenly develop wrinkles...

. ...because they usually start taking care of themselves much later.

Women have been using hydration, sun protection, and active ingredients for years (sometimes decades). It's true that our skin is 'more forgiving' on average... but it can't compensate overnight for decades of (lack of) care.

3. This cream penetrates to the deepest layers of the skin...

. ...which, in cosmetics, remain in the epidermis.

If it reached 'deeper' (dermis)... it turns out we would be talking about a medicine and they wouldn't even be able to advertise that supposed 'penetration power'.
