THE WINTER OF THE IBERIAN MALES

Winter is here and your face is showing? Is it peeling? Is it getting redder? Is it turning sallow…? Your face, I mean. By now, my king, you already know that it's not you, it's your environment. But as Hermione said, wisdom is power, so today we're going to tell you the reasons for the effects you're noticing and how to counteract them.

WINTER IS TIME FOR COLA CAO AND THICK SOCKS

In winter, you experience 3 typical seasonal ups and downs:

  • Temperature swing: You go out for 5 minutes and your soul and the tips of your fingers freeze, you enter a shopping centre and it seems like you've landed in Dubai in August. The heating on full blast and the freezing cold corners cause more fluctuations than the price of guacamole at Mercadona.

  • Danger dryness in the environment: In the office they could be dehydrating raisins and curing chorizos because of how tight they feel. On the street, winds of all kinds whistle at you, not as a compliment, but to leave your face thirsty.

  • You cover your body, you undress your face: You feel like spending a good 30 minutes under the shower, but you get out of it commando. You have plenty of scarves and gloves, but sunscreen and moisturiser are gradually being pushed to the back of the cupboard.

WHAT EFFECTS DOES WINTER HAVE ON MEN'S SKIN?

And if you put all the above together, you find one main effect: dehydration and transepidermal water loss. And that is the common and underlying reason for many visual effects:

  • Skin that is tighter, flaky and more sensitive than usual. On the face and body.

  • Higher incidence of rosacea, dermatitis, eczema and other conditions for which temperature changes are a more immediate trigger than your ex's 'I was thinking about you at 4:00 am'.

  • In general, winter skin: more zombie, more undead, more gothic. More… I take advantage of the opportunity to grow a 3-week beard that, under so many layers of clothing, is not even noticeable.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO COMBAT WINTER SYMPTOMS ON YOUR FACE?

Well, in the non-cosmetic field We would tell you:

  • Humidifier Strip: to raise the humidity levels in your home and office. It's good for your face, your throat and the kentia that trembles in a corner waiting for you to water it once a month.

  • Vitamin C: If you're not one of those people who eats fruit every day, a multivitamin reduces your chances of catching a cold by boosting your immune system. And the same goes for your face.

  • Water: That is a constant throughout the year. Bottle, tea, juices… all day and all day long until your pee is almost clear.

  • Control temperature changes by putting on and taking off layers of clothing, not by using the thermostat. Greta and your face will thank you.

In cosmetics:

  • Cleaning in moderation: It does feel good, but try not to spend too much time in the bathroom and keep it at a temperature that is just right for cooking cabbage. The same goes for your face, better warm water and a gentle cleanser like ours. Splash Foam Party designed for the most sensitive skin.

  • Overuse moisturizer: As with water, without waiting to be 'thirsty'. Ours, Dragon ShotIt has a water-cream texture that makes it easy to reapply because it doesn't feel sticky. The same applies to lip balm.

  • Antioxidants: Also for the face and also as a defense against external aggressors and oxidative stress. Our serum Tan-Tan-Go It's loaded with vitamins and has the added benefit of giving you a tan... so you can chase away Beetlejuice and welcome a Latin Grammy winner in the mirror.

  • Sunscreen: Yes, we should keep it because the clouds cover but do not hide the sun's rays. At least try not to go bare-chested.

And finally, we could also advise you to increase your sessions at home with movies and Netflix, to overindulge in hot chocolate and thick sweaters, to cuddle up a lot with that special person (even if it's special for 15 minutes) by the light of a nice-smelling candle... because yes, all of this is also scientific advice, backed by science, that ensures comprehensive care inside and out but, above all, warms your heart at this time of year before coming out of the official hibernation marked by the calendar.

Winter Survival for Blokes

Winter is here and your face is showing? Is it peeling? Is it getting redder? Is it turning sallow…? Your face, I mean. By now, my king, you already know that it's not you, it's your environment. WINTER = DUVETS, TEA, AND A FACE IN CRISIS
